About Executive Martial Arts

Executive Martial Arts is owned and operated by Chris Garland, whose background includes many decades of experience in martial arts, training and teaching.

At Executive Martial Arts, students are taught the Korean martial art of Hapkido in the traditional style. Beginning with the basics, students learn to roll and break-fall, throw others larger than themselves, execute hand techniques, strikes, and kicks with devastating force while also learning how to defend against such attacks, and ground defense.

Ground defense includes performing and defending against chokes, arm bars, leg bars, sweeps, and throws.

Children and adults of any experience level who want serious training are welcome.

Hapkido teaches patience and respect above physical harm, and the women and men that practice it can live a peaceful and harmonious life.

Mental benefits include stress reduction and increased levels of relaxation for a longer, healthier life. Increased self confidence and self discipline help to develop a positive attitude towards life. Whatever your goals are, Hapkido can help you become physically and mentally fit.

Our children's programs are second to none. We teach our students using a basic philosophy of positive reinforcement to build self esteem, confidence, discipline, positive attitude, and values.

We realize that each student possesses a different set of physical abilities. Size and strength vary with each individual, so once you have acquired a strong foundation in the basics, our program will enhance your personal physical capabilities and maximize your self-defense skills.

Children's classes are carefully designed programs for children of all ages. Benefits include improved performance in physical activity or sports as well as improved study habits and increased overall concentration.

Through building self confidence, self-respect, and self-discipline, we are helping young people to overcome the many problems they face growing up in today's world.
